The Elderheim Chronicles
The great fool and bard Rendel Mequigest once quipped “Chivrisanct is a mining town”. The joke alludes to the peculiar nature of city; not only is it’s principle trade mining, but the city itself has the capacity to mine. The tall, spiraling buildings of Chivrisanct house titanic excavation machines at their centres. The city’s workforce live in the residential cells that surround them, available to repair faulty mechanisms at a moment’s notice and keep the mining process in a state of operational perpetuity.
The constant mining process, along with the copious levels of smog that blanket the city, have lead many to believe public health in Chivrisanct to be incredibly low. The government of Sigh has refrained from commenting on the issue, though their silence has been taken by the other provinces as tacit confirmation of the dire conditions within the city.
